In this role you will have the opportunity to join an early stage, highly funded biotechnology research company. The role will support research and development in novel microbial systems pursued through the analysis of biological communities in the plant hosts and modification of microbial strains to address plant diseases problems caused by fungal, viral, nematodes, bacterial pathogens and pests. This position will be hired at Research Scientist or Senior Research Scientist level depending on experience.

What is required in this role:

  • Ph.D. in plant pathology, mycology, nematology, virology, bacteriology, or related field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge and experience in plant-pathogen interactions, pathogen genetics and biology, plant diseases caused by fugus, or nematodes or virus.
  • Experience in developing effective and comprehensive disease control strategies by harnessing plant and/or soil microbiomes.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in bench work and cutting-edge techniques, including the latest genetics (CRISPR, RNAi), genomics, phenomics approaches and their applications in different pathosystems.
