Compensation: $90K – $130K + plus bonus/incentives and benefits

In this role you will have the opportunity to join an early stage, highly funded biotechnology research company. The role will support research and development in novel microbial systems pursued through the analysis of biological communities, modification of microbial strains to address plant diseases problems caused by fungal, viral and bacterial pathogens and pests. This position will be hired at Research Scientist or Senior Research Scientist level depending on experience.

What is required in this role:

  • Ph.D. in Plant Pathology, Mycology, or related field with strong focus on fungal pathogens.
  • Strong foundational knowledge and experience in Fungal Genetics and Biology and effective application of that knowledge to address issues related to important fungal diseases in a diverse selection of crops.
  • Expertise in plant-fungus interactions, plant fungal diseases, and community ecology including experience in studying crop-associated fungal microbiomes and/or characterizing communities of non-pathogenic fungi that live in plants (endophytes).
  • Demonstrable proficiency in bench/field work and cutting-edge microbiology techniques, e.g., CRISPR, RNAi, Next-Gen sequencing, dual RNA-Seq with focus on fungal pathogens.
