In this role you will have the opportunity to join an early stage, highly funded biotechnology research company. You’ll join a fast paced multidisciplinary team developing quorum sensing biosensors using molecular biology, biochemical and rationale design approaches.

What is required in this role:

  • PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, biology or a related field with a strong publication record
  • Ability to understand complex problems and to develop new approaches
  • Strong expertise with protein design, protein expression, and protein purification methods
  • Hands-on experience with protocol development for protein purification (FPLC / HPLC) and basic spectroscopic techniques.
  • Communication impact – strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaboration – team player who thrives in a collaborative, high activity environment
  • Molecular biology skills including nucleic acid isolation and purification, PCR, qPCR, and molecular cloning techniques
  • Ability to work independently with tight deadlines and in a multi-disciplinary team supervised by a senior scientist

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience with FRET-based approaches.
  • Hands-on experience in design and purification of fluorescently labeled proteins – chemically labeled or genetically engineered
  • Experience with protein ligand binding or protein folding studies, including mathematical modeling and analysis of experimental data
